On 16 May 2004 the Sunny Singles Gathered at Jackson's Sports Bar in Richland, WA for breakfast and to put our carpool/caravan together. After breakfast, and a couple of distractions to buy gas and batteries, we headed for Palouse Falls State Park. Along the way members stopped to photograph barns and landscapes. Small image of the river below Palouse Falls by Karl Agee Palouse Falls State Park is a 105-acre camping park with a unique geology and history and offers a dramatic view of one of Washington State's most beautiful waterfalls. The 200 foot drop of Palouse Falls was created by the Lake Missoula floods and is the only major waterfall left along the glacial flood path of 15,000 years ago.
Members dined on sack lunches at the falls, hiked the trails, took photos of just about anything they found interesting. After lunch, Thom led most of the crew to another location for more crawling about the landscape and taking photos. This, out firs real out of town trip, was a real success! Since then we have had a very successful breakfast picnic on top of the Horse Heaven Hills and a meteor shower viewing from the same location. No pics of those outings though.
