This ride took place on 2 April 2005. S.S.M.C members met in the Commuter Parking Lot in Benton City, WA in the mid-morning then headed out Old Inland Empire road to the Old Yakima Hiway. Our first stop was in Granger to visit the dinosaur park and cruise the "dinosaur drive" through the town. This dino [below] stands in front of the City Hall/Police Station in the center of Granger. Lunch was at Manny's in Naches where no one was able to finish the huge portions Manny serves up. The ride back to the Tri-Cities on Hwy 24 is wide open 2 lane desert road which took us completely around Rattlesnake Mountain the highest treeless mountain in the United States. Total distance is 180 miles This photo is from an earlier ride to Granger. The park there is filled with life size dinosaur sculptures including a Plesiasaurus floating in the lake! |
